Dell Laptops

Many of you might be having Dell Laptops. They sure come cheap with great configurations. However, my experience with them has not been that great.
In about a year from purchase, the battery got busted. The new battery cost somewhere between Rs 5000- Rs6000/- (Is this more expensive than car batteries??). Moreover, since Dell does not believe in having any dealers or middle men (now you know how they are so cheap.), even if you are willing to shell out that kind of money, you may have a hard time getting hold of that elusive battery since it is usually out of stock!!!
I had to wait one whole year before buying a new battery for my laptop because of the doubts, the frustrations and the unwillingness to spend that much money.
Mine may be a one off case but I thought I should share it with every one.

vaibhav Posted at 12:00 on Tue, 06/02/2009The HP delhi customer service is really bad . They are out of parts most of the time , and i think they find it difficult to update customers about the repair status .
I had a harrowing time getting just a power button repaired ! It took them weeks to do it .
I would recommend anybody buying a new laptop , to go for Acer . They have the cheapest machines , and sell them without any Operating System ( which helps cut costs!) , not to miss out Nvidia graphics and a 3 year warranty . Talk about perks .
